Syrian offensive gains ground, terrorists sow death in their flight

DAMASCUS, Oct. 17 (MNA) –The Syrian military offensive continues gaining ground and advances to the east, reestablishing new positions, after liberating various towns in Homs and Hama provinces, and forcing terrorist groups to flee.

Khaldiah Dar Kabirah locality, in Homs province, was liberated on Thursday, after fierce combats with militants of al-Nusra Front and the self-proclaimed Movement of Free Men of The Levant (Ahrar al-Sham).

It was also announced that this new advancement of the Syrian Army will have air and artillery support, to move the terrorist groups out, reestablish security and stability in the zone.

Military spokespeople said that insurgent camps and command posts were

also destroyed in Teir Maalah, and Talbiseh localities, in northern part of this central province.

For its part, the Russian aviation carried out 33 combat missions on Thurday, attacking 32 rebel positions in Idleb, Hama, Damasco, Aleppo, and Deir Ezzor provinces.

Near the eastern city of Ghouta, 15 kilometers of this capital, a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber destroyed an anti-aircraft missile system (OSA type), which the extremists had previously seized to the Syrian Army.

According to the Russian high command spokesperson, the anti-aircraft missile system was hidden in an underground shelter, and was destroyed with a KAB-500 guided bomb.

Three armored vehicles, eight vans with artillery, and a mortar launcher were also destroyed.

In Hama province, 209 kilometers northeastern this capital, the Russian airplanes destroyed a camouflaged artillery battery, which was detected by unmanned aircrafts (drones).

In Aleppo city, Russian Airspace Force units launched an attack against an ISIL command post in Kassir al-Ward town, while in Idleb province they destroyed an explosive factory in al-Atared city.

In response to the Army offensive and Russian air strikes, al-Nusra Front militants opened fired and killed an undetermined number of civilians who were in the surroundings of the mosque in Teir Maalah town, in Homs province, before escaping from the anti terrorist offensives against these movements.
